Linear Series
This series began in April 2024 and is a distinct shift from curved lines to straight lines. In many of the paintings, I use the golden mean and mathematical calculations to place the lines on the canvas to emphasize inflexibility and rigidity as opposed to the more organic flow of the curvilinear work. For much of the work, the color of the background is muted and intentionally not saturated – the lines are intended to dominate.
The dramatic color change for the Pink Eye series uses pink as the color of resistance. This work was completed in November and December 2024.
